Fan Fiction
So… you think you’ve got a story worth telling in the VMC universe? Let’s see if it survives the light of digital day.
Here’s what you need to know before unleashing your fan fiction into the VUE:
1. The Rules of the Realm
• Your Words, Our World
All fan fiction must be set in or inspired by the VMC Universe (a.k.a. Samer Belami’s midlife madness multiverse). Stories can explore untold backstories, new characters, alternate timelines, or conversations with avatars—but must respect the existing tone and themes of the VMC series.
• Respect the Boundaries
No non-consensual acts, hate speech, or gratuitous violence beyond what’s contextually relevant to the narrative. Sex, grief, AI-fueled existential collapse? Of course. But keep it VMC-real. And smart. And weird.
• No Spoiler Dumping
If your story includes major spoilers from Emergence at the VUE or Building My Avatar, mark it clearly at the top. Respect new readers. Don’t kill their joy. Only Samer is allowed to do that.
2. Legal & Copyright: You Write, We Share
• Joint Copyright Model
Fan fiction created with VUE tools or set in the VMC universe is considered jointly owned by the fan author and AJAM (the VMC publisher). You keep your name on it. We keep our universe.
• Monetization
Want to monetize your fan fiction? You can—but only through AJAM-approved channels. You’ll need permission and a proper agreement. Otherwise, keep it in the sandbox.
• AI-Only Stories? Not Allowed.
Stories generated entirely by AI tools, including the VUE, without meaningful human input, are not eligible for copyright. We welcome creativity, not keyboard laziness.
• Feedback May Be Repurposed
Submissions, comments, and meta-narrative ideas may be adapted into future VMC works—possibly even by Samer’s avatars. Submit only if you're cool with that.
3. Privacy, Consent, and Sanity
• Privacy
Your submission is yours, but by submitting, you grant us the right to display, archive, and promote your story within the VUE and affiliated platforms. We do not collect personal info unless you provide it for communication or credit.
• Consent to Weirdness
The VUE is a boundary-testing space. Expect avatars to respond. Expect commentary. Expect the unexpected. By submitting, you agree to engage in this layered narrative playground.
