The Challenge

Your role in this VMC world is to find the truth hidden by the Guardian. The more badges you earn at the VUE, the more details you get.  ​​​You will enter the VUE at Level 1, where you can ask any question about the chapter you have just read. At Level 2, you can peek forward across the volume (book) in your hands. At Level 3, you can ask about any of the 37 volumes of VMC! Ask the Guardian what you can peek at when at Levels 4 through 7.

The Veracity Prize: $1009

Once a year, we will give a monetary prize for the person who writes a scene or a chapter that most closely resembles the one guarded in the VUE by the Diaries Guardian. It is the Guardian who determines the winner by examining how close a fan’s entry is to Samer’s diary entry guarded in the vaults of the VUE.  The more fans read and play, the higher is the prize, which value is shown above and will be updated regularly.

Rules

  1. Indicate the date of the secret diary entry you are emulating (e.g., September 9, 2018)
  2. Entries describing a daily diary entry are preferred. If you enter an entry describing a scene, describe the scene in question and its date (e.g., Samer at the therapist on August 7, 2019).
  3. Submit your entry to [email protected].
  4. The Guardian will score your entry based on several criteria: description, dialogue and subtext, pacing, style, tone, and number of words. The entry with the highest score is the winner.
  5. The VMC team reserves the right to modify these rules and the criteria for programming the VUE app.
  6. The monetary prize will be updated on this page and wired to the winner within thirty days if the winner responds within 30 days and provides instructions. If the winner does not respond or chooses not to provide wiring instructions, the prize will go to the entry with the next highest score.
  7. The winning contestant agrees to publish their entry in the VMC Universe through the VUE. If the entry is published as an e-book, the winner will receive 50% royalties from net sales.
